Course Overview
The Bower Place Diploma of Counselling is delivered in a blended mode of practical training working with clients combined with online knowledge and theory assessments.
Bower Place offers a qualification which provides students with all knowledge and theory assessments delivered online. This allows the student to control the pace and structure of their learning, while choosing when and where they study. The practical component of the course is run at Bower Place.
This course is innovative and unique in that it provides students with practical client experience in specialised counselling practice in the Complex Needs Clinic. This practical learning and experience is ongoing through the course and allows students to apply the theories of counselling they have learned online to real life counselling sessions. All sessions are closely supervised by a professional practitioner.
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required to undertake general counselling work involving skills and knowledge in counselling and high-level communication, a range of commonly used modalities, and working within a case management framework. Graduates may find employment within a variety of environments including health, educational and human service industries. Occupational titles for these workers may include Counselling Worker; Case Co-coordinator; Family Support Worker; Community Worker; Case Manager; School Counsellor or Youth Worker. The course is also an ideal pathway to further qualifications within the human services industry.
The Bower Place Team look forward to working with you.
