Why should I study at bower(place)?

You will have access to industry-leading professionals with the opportunity to be immersed in live clinical practice working alongside a variety of skilled practitioners as well as Bower Place Directors, senior practitioners in the field.

We offer real flexibility in the courses we offer and cater for individual participants circumstances as much as possible. We offer courses that combine online and face to face and flexibility in client contact hours such as weekly or weekly block placements throughout the duration of study.

All theory online which can be done at any time throughout the week.

We are one of the only education providers to offer real client, practical learning in our Complex Needs Clinic, providing invaluable experience for practitioners.

Are your courses accredited?

Yes, our courses are accredited either by the Australian Quality Framework as nationally recognised training or by the Australian Association of Family Therapy. We partner with EM Academy and Consultancy as a Registered Training Organisation.

What are the entry requirements for your courses?

Our courses are catered for people who are interested in a variety of career options, from entry level VET Sector, in support work, case management, and human services or a higher level for people who may currently be working in professions where working with people with mental health issues is required.

Can I study online?

Yes, we offer the opportunity to study online, face to face or a combination of both. Speak to us about your requirements.

How much practical is involved with the course?

The practical and vocational placements vary across our different courses. You will participate in real client consultations in our complex need’s clinic. We also guarantee work placements and organise this on your behalf as part of your study duration.

Can I study part time?

Yes, we offer both full time and part time study across all of our courses.

Can I receive recognition for prior learning for courses I’ve already done?

If you follow the study pathway at bower(place) there are opportunities to receive status for further study with bower(place).

Training participants are able to speak to us about other status or recognition applications for Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications.

The Graduate Diploma in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice is specifically designed and accredited with the Australian Association of Family Therapy. While the course is an excellent professional development opportunity for anyone working with families or systems in the field it also has the specific purposes of working towards becoming a family therapist and ultimately achieving clinical registration status. Therefore, recognition of prior learning or experience is not applicable for this qualification.

CPD points are also available.

How much are the courses and when do I need to pay?

Our course fees vary depending on the course. You can learn more about our course fees in the attached brochure. Course fees listed are what students will need to pay outside of any funding. You can pay upfront or by instalment.

Do you offer scholarships?

Partial scholarships are offered for the Introduction to Family and Systemic Therapy certificate for eligible students. You can learn more on page 17 of our education and training brochure (PDF).

How employable are your courses?

The practical training all students who study at Bower Place are involved with, see most student’s secure roles, and gain employment in the field every year. Many others go on to further study to seek further qualifications.
