Seeking two full-time Clinical Psychologists

Bower Place is a privately owned training, clinical practice, research, knowledge, and software development organisation delivering to high and complex needs clients, patients, and families in all aspects of major mental health, paediatrics, disability, schools, child protection, and law across Australia and into Asia, Europe, and South America.

Bower Place is a twenty-first century systemic practice, technologically equipped for full hybrid delivery, with expertise in working with families and schools and the development of clinical and teaching protocols. It delivers into rural South Australia, NSW and Victoria.

The Bower Place team includes Clinical Psychologists, Mental Health Social Workers, Family Therapists, Mediators, Teachers, and a Consulting Psychiatrist, along with graduate students from Australian and European Universities and in situ PhD students.

Bower Place runs a public Complex Need’s Clinic and is developing a high and complex needs paediatric clinic in collaboration with a school.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a qualified Clinical Psychologist with eligibility to register with the APS, AHPRA, and obtain a Medicare Provider number.
  • Training and qualifications in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice with Clinical Membership AAFT or IFTA are desirable.
  • Have the ability and desire to work therapeutically with all high and complex (support) needs matters in the Bower Place Complex Needs Clinic.
  • Conform to all Bower Place clinical protocols including bower(note).
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully as part of a cohesive multi-disciplinary team
  • Will have Aboriginal and other cultural knowledge. Multiple languages preferred
  • Have good written and verbal skills and a preparedness to adapt writing contextually.
  • Contribute to research and knowledge development including contributing to bower(knowledge)
  • Participate in staff training and contribute to service excellence
  • Be intellectually curious and flexible
  • Be able to embrace and practice outside the applicant’s formal training and thoroughly engage with bower(note) and bower(method)
  • Have sound IT skills and ability to navigate Bower Place latest technology
  • Be willing to travel to rural, intestate and overseas locations to provide training, supervision and clinical practice
  • Work effectively with other professionals outside the organization in teaching and clinical practice and consultation
  • Successfully complete the two-year Bower Place Family Therapy and Systemic Practice Training Programme and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Have a Working with Children Check, Child Safe Environments Training, National Disability Scheme Clearance and be fully vaccinated

 

Salary: Negotiated from $140,000 per annum
