Bower(Attachment)

Attachment defies death – with differentiation comes the promise of new life – the attachment of the mother to the baby, breathes life into that baby – the reciprocal attachment of the baby to the mother allows the child to grow & develop – the replication of attachment onto others guarantees the survival of that baby – differentiation occurs as the developed child moves into adolescence & full brain maturity & the more fully differential identity of adulthood – historically, globally, babies, children, are  largely raised by women – it matters – in the differentiation process, the female child discovers a fundamental similarity with the mother – the male child discovers a fundamental difference – shapes the developmental process & the construction of gender – as the adult seeks out adult attachment.
