Drawing the pattern of interaction with a family in session allows the practitioner to illustrate the recursive nature of inside and outside space. The family can additionally explore the cycle perpetuating the problem and indicate where change may occur.

To utilise this tool, the Practitioner may ask the family to describe a vicious pattern highlighting each family member’s role and involving the whole family.
