Zahra Saberi

Clinical Assistant and Support Worker

Zahra is a support worker and clinical assistant who mentors children, adolescents and adults in achieving their goals.  She provides support in different settings such as schools, client’s homes and the community.

Zahra works as a bridge between the therapist and the client viewing her mentoring role as an opportunity to build a further therapeutic relationship with clients to achieve a better understanding of their world.

Zahra supports her clients in coping with emotions such as anger and sadness,  feelings of isolation, struggles with anxiety and depression, and relationship and behaviour problems.

As a mentor, Zahra will travel with clients to identify difficulties and prepare for challenges.  Zahra works with clients on developing their capacity in expressing feelings, achieve their goals, gain confidence, build independence and create stability in their worlds.

Zahra is a part of Bower Place Group Activities team where Zahra was keen to be a part of the invention of a social platform that could close the gaps in providing services to people with individual special needs and find ways to increase their social participation.

Zahra is currently finishing a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and has completed her education in Counselling, Community Services and Individual Support. Zahra has also completed training to support people with Autism and Intellectual Disability.

Zahra is trained in Applying Behavioural Analysis and Positive Behaviour Supports.

Zahra is a refugee from Iran. She has valuable experiences with migration and is passionate to assist migrants to overcome barriers. Zahra has worked closely with the Department of Education, Child Protection and Family Courts to help refugee families.

Zahra speaks and can conduct sessions in Persian/ Farsi fluently.
