Josephine Colella

Practitioner – Mental Health Social Worker

Josephine is a Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with experience in complex and comorbid mental health and is a Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. She has a Bachelor of Psychological Science, a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Certificate IV in Mental Health, a Graduate Diploma of Family Therapy, and a Master of Social Work, and is a registered provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Josephine has experience working with individuals and families experiencing complex, comorbid symptoms and problems in a multi-systemic context. She also has worked with individuals at risk of suicide and those bereaved by suicide, in crisis support, and with adults, youth and children with mental health issues. Josephine works with children, adolescents and adults with a range of mental health and personal issues such as relationship problems, experiences of trauma, developmental disorders, (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder), and learning and attention problems (e.g., Intellectual Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).

Josephine works systemically and within both the family and broader systems in individual’s lives, working collaboratively with families, schools, GPs, and other professionals. While working from a family therapy and systemic perspective she integrates evidence-based approaches to create positive outcomes for clients.
